Are you house hunting and do you feel like you have seen all the houses available for sale? You spend your days endlessly scrolling sites waiting for homes to appear but get nothing?
Hopefully you are working with a local Realtor and if not–look around and find an agent who knows your market and do some interviewing. You can ask friends for recommendations as many have their own experiences to share (this can be the best way to find a hidden gem of an agent).
Interview?
Yes–you need to find the right person who wants to work with/for you and meshes with your personality. Far too often home buyers settle for the first person who will open doors.
Look for a trusted professional who knows the ins & outs of the local market. Expect to be asked if you are pre-approved, listen to the questions they have for you, as this can markedly help shape your search (and maybe you will find you have not actually been looking in the right spot).

Good agents will go above & beyond search engines.
Fact vs. Reality Related to Houses for Sale:
Fact: Anyone can search the MLS. Reality: While the MLS represents much of what comes to market–a skilled agent knows where to look to find other deals. Off market properties, things that may be coming soon, builder inventory–there are options but it takes someone who knows someone to get to the heart of these deals.
Rest assured: Stagnated searches happen daily and are especially rampant with low inventory (as we see in much of the country right now).
Look for a well-connected agent who will do the work. Find someone who prides themself on creatively solving client problems. I promise, if you “trust the process. Your time will come” (-Unknown)
