Jacksonville A Southern City to Visit This Summer

Last week Southern Living released a list of 8 Under-The-Radar Southern Cities To Visit This Summer. Jacksonville named a Southern city to visit this summer, found itself in second place.  This sitting behind Hattiesburg, Mississippi and in front of Boone, North Carolina.

With many prospective transplants visiting areas that they may be considering a move to – these lists can be helpful.  For locals, these types of articles and rankings serve as a great reminder of why you have chosen to call Jacksonville home.

Where Did Jacksonville Score?

Overall, Jacksonville came in second on this recently released list.  The author is quick to point out that Jacksonville is anything but a small or undiscovered city.  Mentions of the beaches as well as local attractions (The Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens, Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art) and a farmers’ market on the River help place Jacksonville on this list of notable destinations.

Thinking about a move to the area?  Jacksonville features 22 miles of Atlantic Ocean coastline and is home to America’s largest urban park system.  Weather helps immensely with residents being able to enjoy being outdoors year-round.  For First-Time buyers – there is also a seemingly never ending stream of activities, entertainment and more in this area.  From brunch to sporting events along with concerts and festivals – there is literally something for everyone.

For anyone considering a move to the Jacksonville area who qualifies as a first-time home buyer – remember that Hometown Heroes program is currently open and accepting applications.  Additional information can be found here and if you need contact details for a lender who can facilitate the program, please feel free to contact me.

Let us take advantage of all Jacksonville has to offer our residents and visitors.
