One popular and recurring question with families looking at the SilverLeaf community pertains to zoned schools. Today we will review currently assigned schools, some basic information on the St. Johns County School District and generic pros and cons related to the schools.
Where Do Students Attend Classes?
Current zoned schools for the SilverLeaf community include Wards Creek Elementary School (grades: Kindergarten – Grade 5), Pacetti Bay Middle School (Grades 6-8), Liberty Pines Academy (K-8), and Tocoi Creek High School (Grades 9-12). Wards Creek opened to students in August 2007 and welcomes the youngest students in the community. Middle School students attend Pacetti Bay Middle School. In some neighborhoods within Silverleaf, students will attend a K-8 academy, Liberty Pines. Tocoi Creek is one of the newest campus additions to the St. Johns County School district. Opened in Fall 2021, our high school students have access to a modern campus situated in five buildings.
District Stats

As of 3/18/24, St Johns County School District has been second out of 67 districts for the past 9 years, and has had an A-grade accountability rating since 2010.
Pros & Cons
Pros to any/all of the schools in district: Dedicated teachers and very active PTOs and Booster organizations. Cons to any/all of the schools in district: Most are at/over population given the rapid growth in St. Johns County. This results in large class sizes and portable classrooms (286 fixed buildings in total, 598 relocatable)
One last word of caution – the District reserves the right to reassign schools as needed. Current planned schools can be checked and verified on the district website (here). Additionally, if you will be enrolling students at any of the above schools, there is a general plea that you make students known to the incoming schools sooner rather than later.
