U.S. News & World Reports Names Jacksonville to The Hottest U.S. Housing Markets

Late last month, U.S. News & World Reports released their report titled “The Hottest US Housing Markets.” Jacksonville comes in at #10 with an overall score of 68.1, a scant 4.8 off the leader Denver-Aurora-Lakewood, CO.  The Bold City follows the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, TX metropolitan statistical area (MSA) and comes in just ahead of Colorado Springs, CO.

The authors indicate that a “hot” market today is typically or likely one which has fallen back to principal fundamentals of supply, demand and affordability.  With affordability high atop the list of most home buyers’ minds, especially with interest rates on the move – this list can serve as a great analytical tool if contemplating a move to a new city.  At the same time, for locals, these findings serve as a great reminder of why you may have chosen to call an area home.

U.S. News & World Reports looks to a wide range of data points to assemble their list.  Data is sourced to June 2023 and the index is updated regularly towards the end of each month.

How Did Jacksonville Score on the list?

Overall, Jacksonville came in 10th on the August 2023 list.  Other Florida MSAs to make the Top 10 include the Cape Coral-Fort Myers, FL region.
